What is the difference between expanded and corrugated stainless steel honeycomb?

Expanded honeycomb is made by slitting and expanding a single sheet, producing a diamond-shaped cell. It is lower cost but has less strength in one direction.
Corrugated honeycomb is made by stacking corrugated foils, producing hexagonal cells with isotropic strength. It is stronger and more uniform but higher cost. Contact us to discuss which is right for your application.

Can stainless steel honeycomb be supplied with face sheets (sandwich panels)?

Yes. We can supply bare honeycomb core only, or bonded sandwich panels with stainless steel, aluminum, or carbon fiber face sheets. Please specify your requirement when requesting a quote.

Can I use stainless steel honeycomb outdoors?

Yes. Stainless steel — especially grade 316 — has excellent corrosion resistance and holds up well outdoors. It's commonly used in building facades, cladding, and marine environments.

Can you cut it to custom shapes?

Yes. We can cut honeycomb blocks to rectangles, circles, or custom contours per your drawing.
